Both Sides Now

Just listening to my girl Joni Michell.  Do you love her?  Here's 9 reasons why I do:

1-An artist... focused on her craft, not fame.

2-Her lyrics are magic.

3-These songs: A Case of You ❤ Both Sides Now ❤ River ❤ Cactus Tree

4-Her melody, jazz, warmth, honesty, intimacy.

5-How can you not like a singer who ends this song with the line, "I really don't know life at all?"

6-Timeless.

7-Underappreciated, but as good as, if not better, than her male contemporaries.

8-I just want to sit at her feet and take her in.

9-She does what my favorite musicians are able to do--painting a picture with her words, storytelling.

Rows and flows of angel hair
And ice cream castles in the air
And feather canyons everywhere
I've looked at clouds that way

I've looked at clouds from both sides now
From up and down, and still somehow
It's cloud illusions I recall

But now it's just another show

I've looked at love from both sides now

Dreams and schemes and circus crowds

In living every day
